Lunchtime concerts

In conjunction with the exhibition on John Singer Sargent, this concert reveals the importance of music in the artist’s life. In this concert, the I Giardini Quartet and Pierre Fouchenneret evoke two of the painter’s musical encounters: Ethel Smyth and Gabriel Fauré.

With Manon Galy on the violin, Léa Hennino on the viola, Héloïse Luzzati on the cello and Célia Oneto Bensaid on the piano: the four musicians take their cue from the painting Chasse aux papillons (Chasing butterflies) by Berthe Morisot (1841-1895), recreating its atmosphere through a program that features Louise Héritte-Viardot and Marie Jaëll. This 12.30pm concert, the first in the cycle A work, a concert, will take place in the auditorium.

Un air venu de Scandinavie souffle sur la scène de l'auditorium pour ce concert du cycle Une œuvre, un concert. S'inspirant de La Crique mystérieuse, peinture réalisée par l'artiste suédoise Anna Boberg (1864 - 1935), Raphaëlle Moreau et Nathanaël Gouin ont imaginé un programme musical autour d'œuvres de compositrices, suédoises aussi : Sara Wennerberg Reuter, Amanda Maier et Laura Netzel.

Marie-Laure Garnier, an Orsay-Royaumont Academy laureate and opera singer revelation at the Victoires de la musique classique awards in 2021, returns to the auditorium stage in the company of the Magenta Quartet. Together, they will perform the works of seven women composers in a recital inspired by the unique artwork Paysage de villa italienne au bord d'un lac avec huit portraits (Landscape of an Italian villa beside a lake with eight portraits) by Georgiana Louisa Berkeley (1831-1919).

Un arbre, trois musiciens : Raphael Sévère, Xavier Phillips et Jean-Frédéric Neuburger s'emparent de ce Paysage, étude d'arbres de Rosa Bonheur (1822 - 1899) et propose un programme musical autour des compositions de Hilda Sehested, Louise Farrenc et Rita Strohl

Avec ce concert, en écho à l'exposition « Renoir et l'amour », les musiciens de l'Orchestre de chambre de Paris rendent hommage à Renoir et à son amour de la musique. À travers les œuvres choisies, de Charles Gounod et Adolphe Blanc, ils célèbrent le lien intime entre peinture et musique.

For the cycle Renoir and music, this concert coincides with the exhibition ‘Renoir and Love’. Axelle Fanyo and Susan Manoff present a light-hearted, sophisticated and eloquent musical program, just the kind of thing Renoir would have appreciated.
